Speaking in Tongues« is a co-creative band project

... in which four musicians have created a concert set with their own music together through improvisation, composition, shared authorship and discussion. As part of the fellowship program of the Beethovenfest Bonn, Jakob Nierenz, cellist and artistic director, has developed a new musical language together with Hanna Mbuya on tuba, Cassie Kinoshi on saxophone and Lukas Akintaya on drum set, which is further expanded by electronic effect devices. Julio Escobar Mellado has developed a lighting concept for the music. The premiere at the Beethovenfest was recorded by Deutsche Welle and can be viewed here:
